City of Kitchener
The City of Kitchener required an interactive website to celebrate their centennial. They hired a high-profile marketing firm in the area to design and produce the site, and Threestone Studios was brought on board to apply the design work and develop the sites functionality, including community user accounts, events calendars, contests, and content management. The site launch included a contest where the public could vote on proposed celebration events, and the community can continue to actively contribute photos, news, and memories regarding the City of Kitcheners history. A Corporate Site for Information, Sales, and Resources
IST (an Aecon subsidiary) required an interactive website to showcase their technology. They provide customized Once Through Steam Generation (OTSG) solutions for recovering waste energy in industrial settings. They hired a local high-profile marketing firm to design and produce the site, and Threestone Studios was brought on board to apply the design work and develop the sites functionality. Beyond the standard content management features, this website includes an online 'configurator' whereby by visitors can select the specifications to meet their needs and then automatically receive a PDF schematic via email, and their specification details are forwarded on to the appropriate sales and engineering staff. A separate registered users-only area provides access to technical whitepapers and other resources. The site also includes an automatic feed from their MailChimp newsletter. Visit the IST site at: otsg.com.
BIO Portal and Stats Portal
W.H. Freeman needed some web-delivered sales tools to showcase its new BIO Portal and Stats Portal products. These companion resources not only provide online versions of the accompanying text books, but also give access to additional multimedia learning resources, quizzes, and assignments. They also allow instructors to manage their course syllabus, customize quizzes, and monitor student progress. Threestone Studios started with the provided scripts and produced an interactive video player complete with a series of professionally narrated videos detailing how these products can enhance the experience for both student and instructor. The technologies involved include video, separate narration and music tracks, all embedded in a Flash interactive media player. Links to an online demo coming soon.
